Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology (CVET) is one of the three BMES journals published by Springer Nature. The founding Editor-in-Chief, Ajit Yoganathan, has served since 2010 and is stepping down December 31, 2020.
Under his leadership the journal has attracted a diverse set of articles from academia and industry.
The BMES Publications Board is launching the search for the next Editor-in-Chief.
CVET presents a wide spectrum of research, from basic to translational, in all aspects of cardiovascular physiology and medical treatment. It offers academic engineers and clinicians, and industrial investigators a forum for the dissemination of research that utilizes engineering principles and methods to advance fundamental knowledge and technological solutions related to the cardiovascular system.
The journal is currently publishing its 11th volume with six issues per volume (just started in 2020). Over the past four years the journal has published an average of 54 articles per year with an average acceptance rate of 33%. The current impact factor is 1.77. The journal is indexed in Pubmed, SCOPUS, SciSearch, and Journal Citation Reports.
The journal has 50 associate editors, who are responsible for individual manuscript reviews. Associate editors are international and represent both industry and academia (engineers and clinicians). The Editor-in-Chief is assisted by an editorial assistant, provided by Springer-Nature, who manages the review process. The EIC is also provided a stipend by BMES. More information about the journal and articles published can be found at https://www.springer.com/journal/13239.
Applicants interested in the position of Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology should submit a cover letter and vision statement, along with a curriculum vitae highlighting prior journal editorial experience, no later than April 30th to the Chair of the Publications Board, George Truskey (gtruskey@duke.edu).
