2024 BMES Annual Meeting - Call for Abstracts

A secondary abstract submissions window for Late-breaking and Undergraduate Research opened on May 27 and closed
July 26 at 11:59 PM ET. Late-breaking submissions will only be eligible for a poster presentation. Undergraduate Research submissions will be eligible for an oral or poster presentation.

General Policies

General abstract submissions will be eligible for either an oral or poster presentation.
- Submitting, you agree to register and attend BMES 2024 Annual Meeting, if selected to present this October 23-26, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland. Presenting authors must attend in order to present.
- General Abstracts cannot be updated after the final deadline of May 22, 2022.
Late-breaking Abstracts are open to all and only qualify for a poster session.
- Late-breaking Abstracts cannot be updated after the final deadline of July 26, 2024.
Undergraduate Research Abstract submissions are limited to undergrad students and will qualify for an oral or poster session.
- Undergraduate Research Abstracts cannot be updated after the final deadline of July 26, 2024.

Please be sure to give yourself enough time to complete the entire submission process in our portal before the deadline, as we will be unable to grant extensions due to programmatic scheduling.

Prepare for the Submission Process
You will use a separate website site to submit your abstract.
- In order to submit, the presenting author and the submitting author must have a BMES member or non-member account to submit an abstract.
- Call for Abstract Submissions for General Abstracts, Specialty Tracks, and Special Sessions is open.
- For General Abstracts and Specialty Tracks, there is a non-refundable abstract submission fee of $65 for each abstract submitted.
  - This is a separate and additional fee to your conference registration purchase price.
  - All presenting authors must register for the conference by August 1, 2024 through the BMES 2024 Annual Meeting registration website.
  - Presenting authors must attend the 2024 BMES Annual Meeting to present.
- Submissions do not require a full author list to be considered complete.
  - You will be able to access your abstract to make edits, including adding authors, until the general abstract submission deadline of ~~May 15, 2024~~. New Deadline: May 22, 2024

Submission Format
You will be asked to fill in text boxes to detail your introduction, materials & methods, results, conclusions & discussions. Any figures or images you have to support your abstract can be uploaded in a .jpg. jpeg. or .png format.
- During the submission process, you will be asked to complete sections of mandatory information needed in order to complete your abstract. You must enter 50 (minimum) to 250 (maximum) words for each of these required fields, including:
  - Introduction
  - Materials and Methods
- You will also be asked to enter 50 (minimum) to 350 (maximum) words for the following combined fields.
  - Results
  - Conclusions
  - Discussions
- Any images, tables, or figures that support your work will need to be entered in a .jpg, .jpeg, or .png format. PDF files will not be accepted.
Additional Information:
- Submissions do not require a full author list to be considered complete.
- You will be able to access your abstract to make edits including adding presenters and/or authors until the submission deadline of ~~May 15, 2024~~. New Deadline: May 22, 2024
