Message From the Chair:

The CMBE 2015 meeting in St Thomas was a great success, with approximately 130 scientists, engineers, clinicians, and sponsors in attendance to learn from a broad spectrum of accomplished speakers and poster presenters, while also having some fun on the beautiful waters of the Caribbean.

The theme of “From Womb to Tomb: Mechanobiology of Generation, Regeneration, and Degeneration” was explored in sessions ranging from Functional Engineering to Clinical and Commercial Translation. Networking was enjoyed poolside in the evening, and at the annual Gala Dinner, the first Shu Chien achievement award was presented to Dr. Douglas Lauffenburger of MIT by Dr. Shu Chien.  I look forward to seeing you next year when Roland Kaunas will chair the fantastic 2016 BMES-CMBE Conference in New Orleans from January 6-10, 2016.
