Publications
All BMES members receive electronic access to the following journals:
  • Annals of Biomedical Engineering– the official journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishing original articles in the major fields of bioengineering and biomedical engineering.  The Annals is an interdisciplinary and international journal with the aim to highlight integrated approaches to the solutions of biological and biomedical problems. 
     
  • Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology (CVET)- presents a wide spectrum of research, from basic to translational, in all aspects of cardiovascular physiology and medical treatment. It offers academic and industrial investigators a forum for the dissemination of research utilizing engineering principles and methods to advance fundamental knowledge and technological solutions related to the cardiovascular system.
     
  • Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering (CMBE) - publishes original research advancing the study and control of mechanical, chemical, and electrical processes of the cell. 
     
  • Biomedical Engineering News– monthly electronic newsletter published by BMES highlighting advances in BME education and research along with highlights of BMES members.

Education
BMES 2013 - Seattle - BMES members receive substantial discounts to attend the BMES Annual Meeting. The BMES Annual Meeting, taking place September 25-28, 2013, will bring together academics, corporate leaders and health care providers in biomedical engineering. Thousands of department chairs and professionals controlling millions of dollars in annual research and laboratory budgets attend each year. 

Regional Meetings - BMES will be conducting four regional meetings in 2013.

E-Learning
BMES members have immediate access to all e-learning materials including sessions from BMES 2012 on networking; resume writing; interviewing and coming soon – best practices in BME; and BME ethics.

Special Interest Groups
All BMES members are encouraged to become active in a BMES Special Interest Group.  Don’t see a SIG that interests you?  Contact BMES Membership Director Jennifer Edwards and talk with her about creating a SIG.
  • Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering (CMBE) is available to all BMES members with an interest in Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering.  The CMBE will host its annual meeting in Hawaii, January 2-5, 2013.


Networking
In addition to the multiple networking opportunities at BMES 2013 and the Regional Meetings, BMES members are encouraged to be active in the Society's Committees. Chapters
BMES members are eligible to join student and industry chapters.

Career Development
BMES Career Connections: BMES holds an annual Career Fair for members during the Society’s annual meeting.  Members also have various educational sessions on interviewing and resume writing techniques available during the meeting along with sessions on networking and ethics.

BMES Awards
BMES presents a number of prestigious awards each year to advanced and new researchers, students, and graduate students. Click here for information on all the awards and deadlines.

Mentoring
BMES offers a searchable mentoring directory available to members only.  You can sign up to be a mentor, search for a mentor, or both!  Mentors can be searched on their gender, location, membership level and areas of expertise.  You must be signed in as a member to access this benefit.
